In the narrow street "Rue des Rosiers". During a walking tour of the Jewish Marais.
By Elisa Boularand or Orlie Taieb, mahJ's guides.
The beautiful Marais neighborhood has long been considered the symbolic and historical heart of Jewish life in Paris.
Join this English language walking tour to discover Parisian Jewish culture past and present.
As you experience the sights and smells of this dynamic neighborhood you will learn about key moments in French Jewish history, from the optimism following the Jewish Emancipation (1791) to the darkest days of WWII. By following in the footsteps of the Yiddish-speaking Ashkenazi immigrants who settled here in the 1880s and the Sephardic North African Jews who reinvigorated the Marais after the Holocaust, this tour will showcase the mosaic of cultures still visible in this vibrant district today.
No advanced booking is required but you can book in advance if you want.
This walking tour is also available the day of your choice by booking a tour : see more here.
