Games at the mahJ

To celebrate the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the mahJ is presenting the exhibition "André Steiner. The Body: From Desire to Transcendence". The Hungarian photographer André Steiner, a pioneer of the "New Vision", expressed his talent by capturing athletic bodies in motion in Paris in the 1930s.
This exhibition is part of the Paris 2024 Olympiade culturelle.
The mahJ is open all summer except Friday, 26 July 2024
The permanent collection, the exhibition "André Steiner. The Body: From Desire to Transcendence", the exhibition "Jérôme Zonder. It's a small path" located in the Contemporary gallery are open all summer at the usual hours:
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 11 am-6 pm*
Saturday and Sunday: 10 am-6 pm.Last ticket sales and last access 45 minutes before closure.
*Notice a special closure of the mahJ on Friday, 26 July 2024 during the opening ceremony of the Olympic games.
> The bookshop is in free access during museum opening hours.
> The library, open on appointment, will be closed from July 25th to August 12th.
> No activity are scheduled in the auditorium during summer time.
The courtyard, bookshop and contemporary gallery are open on free access to the public once security has been cleared.
Is it worth making a reservation?
Admission to the museum is by ticket at the usual rates.
Booking on the on line ticketing (including free tickets) is possible but not mandatory. You can purchase directly at the ticket office.

How to get to the mahJ?
Located in a central area of Paris, the mahJ is easily accessible by public transport. The closest metro stations to the museum, Rambuteau and Hôtel de Ville, will remain open during the Games. However, some stations will be closed to the public from July 15th to September 8th 2024. Bus use should also be checked.

Tips to visit with children
Under 18 have free access to the museum as well as European Union residents aged 18-25.
Ask for the family kit at the ticket desk to benefit from a lively discovery of the permanent collection.

Coming with a group
Group visits can be booked throughout the summer by writing to groupes@mahj.org for 10 people or more and a reduced rate.
Please note that the museum's tour leaders are not available to guide groups in August.
When will next season's cultural programme be available for booking?
Reservations for cultural activities at the mahJ from September 2024 to February 2025 will be possible online and at the ticket office from mid-August.
