The permanent exhibition

The museum’s aim is to demonstrate Judaism’s perpetual unity, which has transcended exile, persecution and the diversity of the national groups, and to reflect on the bond between tradition and history. It explores the diverse forms of expression encompassed by the notion of Jewish art and shows the wealth of resources which these can bring to our knowledge of the Jewish world.

The general museum plan functions as follows: after the introductory space, each room corresponds to an epoch, a geographic and cultural setting and to a theme. At the end of the visit, the visitor will have completed a voyage through different historic periods, will have discovered the diversity of Jewish communities and acquired several essential notions concerning the foundations of Jewish culture.
